Hampstead Stage Company (FREE CHILDRENS PROGRAM)
"Good Theatre makes you think….Great Theatre makes you feel" Those are the by words of the Hampstead Stage Company, a non- profit Theatre company based in New Hampshire. In it's 27th year this group brings high quality professional theatre to schools, libraries and communities all over the 48 contiguous states. Their mission is to educate youth audiences by bringing classical literature to life through live theatre, thus sparking an interest in reading the classics, instilling a love and appreciation of the arts and preserving theatre for future generations. The traveling shows are performed by 2 actors in full period costume, each playing several roles, with emphasis on audience participation. Portable stage sets invoke the mood. This year's performance is, "The Adventures of Mr. Toad". Mr. Toad and friends set off on an adventure which land them in pickle after pickle until he, Mole and some brave audience members band together to win back Toad Hall from the evil Weasel King. The story teaches the value of friendship, perseverance and forgiveness. See hampsteadstag.org
